Joe Meyer was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo., where he went to Webster University and received a BA in Music in 2004. He can be seen playing around the area with Superjam, a band he co-founded, as well as Captain Bulkhead and the Portholes, The Taylor Streiff Trio, Vincent Varvel, Anthology: A Tribute to the Allman Brothers, and Broken Jukebox among others.

He has lived in Oakland, while touring with John Nemeth, and Nashville, where he toured with country singer Craig Campbell. Joe has appeared on NBC's Today Show, TrunkFest with Eddie Trunk, and the Grand Ole Opry on 14 occasions. He has toured in 17 different countries and 49 of the 50 United States. His recording credits include Ricky Montgomery, Son Volt, Javier Mendoza, Nikki Hill, and Jeremiah Johnson to name a few.
